Fraser Coast there's a problem and you can help provide solution!

At least five times a day, every day of the week, patients of all ages are transferred from the Fraser Coast to Brisbane via the Royal Flying Doctor Service. That means an ambulance trip for patients from the hospital to the Hervey Bay airport where patients are then moved to the plane across the open tarmac.

So patients are going to be on the open tarmac in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day and night with very little shelter from the elements.

The Ambos and the RFDS staff are fantastic people but they can't fix that problem. They can't control the weather and they can't control the time at which a patient needs to be transported.

The Solution
The solution is a purpose built patient transfer facility at the Hervey Bay Airport ... but of course it's going to cost a lot of money.

The Fraser Coast Regional Council has already committed $230,000 to the project but much more is needed and that's where you can help!

From now until we have all the necessary funds in the bank the Fraser Coast Patient Transfer Committee is going to be raising money so please help by donating, buy a raffle ticket, handing over your loose change or in any other way that you can.

The people of the Fraser Coast - that's YOU - need this facility at the Hervey Bay airport and it's not going to happen unless you help
